Tailings Dewatering Project

A new dewatering circuit is being designed and constructed for a client, where I am responsible for the following tasks under the supervision of a Senior Piping Engineer:

• Performing Slurry piping calculations for calculating the pipe size and slope. 

• Calculation of settling velocities of solid particles in slurry pipelines.

• Coordinating with designers to finalize the piping layout.

• Sizing the pumps, tanks, splitter box, and other mechanical equipment.

• Calculating the loads on pipe supports.

• Preparation of P&IDs and conducting a 3D model and Isometric drawing review.

• Conducting a study to assess the pumping capacity of the Barge Water Booster Pump for Centrifuge CIP (clean in place) using AFT Fathom
